The Fairies
The Fairy Adoption Program is an ongoing fundraiser for the Carousel. The $200 donation per fairy helps the Carousel meet its mission of providing simple joy to all who come.
Our fairies are made by volunteers, who do their best to manifest the adopter’s vision. Some of the options for the adopter are a “theme” (you will see several fairies with themes, from Autumn to Roses), or you can specify a style of clothing (a girl in a blue dress), male or female, color of hair, etc. Fairies are not meant to look like an actual person — they can only look like themselves. But they can share features such as hair color, dress, or a hobby. The carousel’s intention is to keep the fairies up permanently. Remember that the fairies will be placed up high, out of the reach of little hands, so fine details won’t show.
The Fairy Book
A book on a pedestal in the Carousel House holds a picture of each fairy, the fairy’s name, the name of the adopter, and a dedication if desired. Take a look at the fairy book for inspiration.
