In late September, as I put the chimp at the carousel, I went back to the carving shed to begin the next animal: a penguin. Last year, then carousel director, Nancy Moon, gave me a small picture book called “Tomorrow: Adventures in an Uncertain World” by Bradley Trevor Greive. On the last page of that book is the photo below which became my inspiration for the next carving. I fell in love with that little penguin just going forward into her great unknown.
