Stitches out, numb thumb, we were back in business. It was now early August and I was carving the fur, one of my favorite parts of the process.
In this photo, the chimp is sitting on steps, outside of what will be the Somewhere Else portal, but a good part of his lower back is designed to still be inside Somewhere Else, anchoring him to the place where he comes from. I had designed the ‘template steps’ to allow me to determine how much of him sits on either side, here and there.
I know he looks worried in this photo, but he has a job, perhaps just a part-time job but still, he seems to be serious about it. He will be called “The Chimpanzee of Our Troubles” and it will be his duty, to carry away the troubles and worries of those who sit beside him. I have no idea if he will take these cares to the other side or just will work through them for the folks who visit him. Remember, I am just the carver.
