The Carousel was closed from February 7th through February 16th…
Before our opening in 2010, founder Scott Harrison worked with General Electric to re-tool this motor to conform to modern day use.
On February 6, the maintenance crew removed the motor from the carousel for THE FIRST TIME since it was installed over a decade ago. It was quite a job to hoist the engine out and over the carousel deck!
We then took the motor to Denver Electric Motor for servicing. We are grateful for the knowledgeable and helpful team there! They worked hard to find the parts we needed, and even helped us get some parts fabricated locally so that we didn’t have to wait a month for repairs. And now we’re back open for rides, and ready to keep you all smiling!
